    Bowman relates early family life:  mother died at age 2, he married at 18. Began working at Chocolate factory October 2, 1911, lived in Derry Church. Describes job interview with George Eppley, plant superintendent.  Worked in roasting room until June 1915.  Fired under unpleasant circumstances. Discusses M.S. Hershey bringing people from Lancaster to work, including Kline family (roast supervisor: Frederick Kline).  Offers details of roasting and other operations, describes bean varieties; salaries.  Was put in charge when Kleins left to start their own business.  Remembers Fanny Hershey.  Also relief man for trolley 1912-1913.
