    Deaner describes an idyllic childhood in a "mixed neighborhood."  Speaks fondly of Junior College, Hershey Park, ballroom, Community Theatre, etc.  Mr. Deaner adds commentary.  Gratitude to Mr. Hershey for hiring during Depression.  Children tried to "Americanize" parents; family wanted to put Italian life aside, although traditional cooking was taught.  Remembers dedicated teachers, speaks highly of schools.  Relates religious events, holiday and family traditions, experience with Italian prejudice.
